I Tried A $200 Skin Medication For 6 Months. Here's What Happened
Differin XP gel (generic name: Adapalene) is very expensive at $200 a tube...but does it work on adult acne, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation as promised?
I’m still on my art-making hiatus (see below for some watercolour paintings of questionable quality…I’m a beginner!) but I thought I’d pop in to say hi!
How are you?
So the news with me is I’ve been trying out Differin XP for my adult acne, dark spots and wrinkles and I’ve got this full report in my YouTube video.
If you’re bored, watch it! Check the middle of the video to see where I was vacationing this winter in Florida.
The bottom line with Differin XP gel is that it works great, and helped with some of my minor acne but at the end of the day, it doesn’t seem powerful enough to rid me completely of the hormonal mid-life perimenopausal chin acne that plagues me.
Still worth using though for it’s wonderful skin exfoliating properties. My skin has that constant glass skin vibe on adapalene.
You can get a lower concentration of adapalene and that will work too, I tried it! In the US it’s over the counter. In Canada you have to import it from iHerb or some such outfit.
Two thumbs up for Differin XP! I recommend it, but I did have a few problems along the way including a painful neck retinization issue. Again, check out my video so you can see what I’m talking about.
Now here are some watercolours you didn’t ask for but you’re getting anyway. As you can see my skill is still….let’s call it emerging? But I’m having so much fun being in the moment and drawing and painting things I love(d). By contrast my embroidery skills are surprisingly good, I guess we all have our metiers we’re better at than others. I’m ok with that.
Be well, and have a great summer!
